TA is the first seed accelerator in Taiwan to host cross-border Demo Days in Taipei, Silicon Valley and New York.
Taiwan Accelerator (TA) is the first seed accelerator in the region, hosting two batches a year. Every selected startup receives seed funding followed by a 2-month bootcamp (TA Camp). Founders are not required to submit lengthy business plans, they simply need to fill out an online application and film a one-minute video clearly explaining their business. Those selected are immediately offered either USD30,000 or 18,000 for a 10% or 6% stake respectively. This is a standard deal without any negotiation or valuation, and founders can choose their own funding plan. TA focuses on seed round investments and does not serve as lead investor or take part in subsequent financing.
TA invests in and nurtures any kind of seed-stage startup, with special attention currently being focused on eCommerce / platform, IOT, AI, fintech, biotech and greentech. We always get excited about great ideas.
Not Just Funding
The seed capital is only second, TA’s biggest value is enabling startups to gain access to our broad network of investors, corporations, industry experts and professionals. We offer a full range of resources, including but not limited to mentoring, finance, legal, media relations, marketing, branding, investor relations, fund raising and IPO planning. TA has a strong and complete line-up of partners and mentors, combined with its comprehensive and unique acceleration program. This helps our startups create competitive business model and achieve product-market fit in the shortest possible time, followed by the introduction of strategic investors, venture funds, and government grants to accelerate their march towards success.
All founders undergo the 2-month TA Camp, including entrepreneurship courses, mentoring, seminars, and workshops. They obtain an industry specific mentor who can advise on business strategy, product development, competitive analysis, sales and marketing including branding and pitfalls such as IP protection and regulatory risk that may hamper growth or simply act as a natural barrier to entry. On top of that, a corporate CFO or IRO is assigned to each TA startup in order to provide the highest level of dual-track business and financial counseling.
The TA Camp culminates in Demo Days held in Taipei, Silicon Valley and New York, giving startups the opportunity to acquire more funding from both local and global investors. Graduation is the beginning of another phase in which TA partners and mentors continue to provide a wide range of assistance in terms of business development and capital raise.
